The L&MR collection draws inspiration from the Industrial Revolution and is dedicated to the historic event of 1830: the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway (L&MR) in the United Kingdom. This milestone marked the beginning of railway transport, celebrated as the pinnacle of engineering and design ingenuity and a symbol of progress in its time. Over the years, the L&MR collection has earned four international design awards, including the Winner Award in the Excellent Product Design – Luxury Goods category at the prestigious German Design Awards 2024. The collection has been featured in leading publications such as WATCHPRO, HYPEBEAST, T3.com, and Time&Tide.
The hallmark of the L&MR mechanical models is their intricate case design, featuring a vertically positioned crown and a unique Hvilina-winder key for winding the mechanism. The updated models embrace a contemporary interpretation of the Art Deco style, incorporating even bolder references to the collection's concept. The watches are equipped with the Miyota 9029 premium automatic movement, featuring 24 ruby jewels.

The Industrial Revolution of the 18th–19th centuries was a landmark event in societal development, driving industrialisation. It was accompanied by urbanisation, rapid economic growth, and an improved quality of life. This era of groundbreaking discoveries and bold innovations inspired the creation of the L&MR collection.
The concept was inspired by the historic event of 1830: the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in the United Kingdom. This milestone marked the beginning of railway transport, hailed as the pinnacle of engineering and design ingenuity and a symbol of progress in its time.
The new models retain the collection’s signature case silhouette, along with its standout feature: a vertically positioned crown paired with the unique HVILINA-winder key. This innovative solution, crafted by our engineers and designers, not only enhances the user experience but also addresses technical challenges associated with the intricate case design. The sides of the case are styled to resemble railway tracks, adding a bold conceptual touch.
The completely redesigned dial now features even stronger references to the collection's inspiration. It is divided into two sections: an outer part with guilloché engraving and an inner circular section with indicators. These are connected by a raised “railway track” element that doubles as a minute display.
The hour indicators alternate between Roman numerals and applied decorative screw markers. HVILINA designers employed a decomposition approach, where the stylized screws logically align with the minute “railway track,” imitating the fastening system of real rails.
The hands have also been redesigned in the Art Deco style, complementing the overall concept of the new models.
Another striking detail is the decoration above the 6 o’clock marker: a plate inscribed with “Beware of the trains”, echoing the design of 19th–20th century railway signs from England. The 27-minute marker serves as a nod to an interesting historical fact: trains on the Liverpool–Manchester Railway travelled at a speed of 27 km/h.
The case back is crafted from stainless steel, with a sapphire crystal centrepiece enclosed in a stylized gear wheel, offering a view of the movement. The watches are equipped with the Miyota 9029 premium automatic movement, featuring 24 ruby jewels.
The collection includes four models, each distinguished by its colour scheme. Every model is named after a train that operated on the Liverpool–Manchester Railway, paired with a numeric index: Rocket 0-2-2, Northum (from Northumbrian) 0-2-2, Planet 2-2-0, and Lion 0-4-2. Each model’s pendulum bears an engraving of its corresponding train and the date the railway opened.
The watch cases are made of stainless steel, with 50m water resistance, sapphire crystal glass, and straps crafted from genuine leather.
